Hong Kong by day from the hotel and Avenue of the Stars. The statue is Bruce Lee.

So, I have always wanted to go to HK. I have had my heart set on it since I used to watch The Price Is Right when I was young. Sometimes there would be trips to Hong Kong and the board would always show the harbour looking down over fireworks. My life is complete as my 8 year old self has now realised a dream.

This is the view from Victoria Peak which overlooks the city. Apparently, it was so clear because the factories were shut down for the CNY so the sky became quite blue. The temperature was around 15 - 20 degrees each day. HK is right on the ocean, so it was damp when it was cool.

Each night for dinner we enjoyed a bowl of shrimp wonton soup with noodles. It was delicious and cost around $4 per bowl.

We visited the Big Buddha north of the city on Sunday. The crowds were HUGE. We waited in line for 2 hours and 45 minutes to take the cable car up to the top of the mountain. The big Buddha was also huge, and well worth the wait.

When we first arrived in Hong Kong, we went to the flower, bird, and fish market. The flowers were amazing and stunned us all. Huge bouquets of flowers. The birds and the fish were quite sad looking. No pics of them.

This is the view from the street outside the condo. It is pouring rain. As you can see, they drive on the other side of the street here. I've seen "drivers" texting, sleeping, holding babies, and looking in funny directions. I keep forgetting the passenger is doing this.

Cute little kittens for sale at the mall. What a steal around $333 CAD. Really, for a cat, this is an incredibly low price.

Grocery Shopping Time! Everything is similar if not the same. Instead of French there is Chinese or Bahasa Malaysian.

There are lots of cleaning products; (Good thing because there are lots of maids. I saw one woman taking her new maid shopping while I was at the store. She was pointing out all of the types of food her family likes to eat so the maid will know what to buy.) I've never had a persimmon (might be time to try them); I'm not a papaya fan, but they are pretty; there are about five different kinds of pineapples here (who knew?); lots of lettuce; a huge selection of wine (it is as expensive as home); huge big fish (ick); lots of beer (the imported beer is way more expensive than the local or SE Asian beer) and as many types of mushrooms as the heart desires. Conversion is 3 Malaysian Ringgits to 1 CAD.

Arrived safe and sound in Hong Kong. Long flight... one leg to go until KL. Bring on the heat, pool, and foot massages.
